Free entry (no cover charge) for AJM members at Dizzy’s Jazz Club gigs this week:

1. Thursday, 2nd June – Jazzcats. The Jazzcats is a musical group that has been delighting Melbourne audiences since 2007. The current line-up is a quartet of accomplished musicians who’s love for jazz has drawn them together to perform some classic mainstream standards – plus one or two originals!
2. Friday, 3rd June – Tribute To Blue Note. A tribute to famed jazz record label Blue Note. Repertoire includes classic numbers from hard bop pioneers such as Thelonious Monk, Art Blakey, Herbie Hancock and more. AJM member Roger Clark on alto saxophone.
3. Saturday, 4th June – Sarah Maclaine in Concert. Indulge in the rich, velvety voice of jazz chanteuse Sarah Maclaine as she effortlesly moves between jazz, pop, blues, R&B and beyond, accompanied by the Roger Clark Quartet, with AJM member Roger Clark on alto saxophone.
4. Monday, 6th June – Wilbur Wilde’s Blowout. Hey Hey It’s Saturday’s legendary saxophonist Wilbur Wilde blows up a rock-infused jazz storm in his relentlessly groving and swinging style.
5. Tuesday, 7th June – Adam Dunning with the Roger Clark Quartet. Seductive vocalist Adam Dunning heats up the stage with his charismatic blend of surf jazz, bossa originals and soulful standards.
6. Wednesday, 8th June – Dizzy’s Big Band. Dizzy’s outstanding 18-piece Big Band perform at Dizzy’s, playing traditional arrangements from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Count Basie and Duke Ellington through to modern masters such as Gordon Goodwin and Tom Harrell.
