THE LARGERPHONES

The Lagerphones are a six piece New Orleans band with Australian voices and a contemporary attitude. Featuring Ben Harrison on trumpet, Jon Hunt on clarinet, James Macaulay on trombone, Louis King on guitar, Marty Holoubek on bass and Nick Martyn on drums, they play classics from the jazz giants of yesteryear, original compositions, some nasty songs from when they were kids, and few Antipodean cornerstones. From the Raucous to the sublime and Louis Armstrong to Paul Kelly, they play a uniquely Melbournian brand of trad jazz.
