Melbourne-based New Impromptu Quartet, led by pianist Alexander Nettlbeck, are more than a quartet! Drawing on a world of styles and influences, the band explores connections between jazz, latin, soul/funk,and reggae music. Rhythmic bass lines and driving percussion characterize the quartet’s sound highlighted in their original compositions along with contemporary arrangements of the group’s favorite standards.
