Australian Jazz Convention history in suitcases

We were lucky enough to receive the donation of these 2 suitcases by Bob Ashworth recently.

Bob started collecting stickers from the Deniliquin’s Annual Jazz Festival and various jazz venues first, then from the Australian Jazz Convention, when he started attending around 1980 (as a reminder, the AJC started in 1946). He added to his collection by attending every Convention until the 1990’s, when his wife’s health started to decline: Perth, which he said was “magical”, Adelaide, Ballarat, the Gold Coast, Armidale, etc… The suitcases were part of every trip and gained extra stickers along the way. Now their globetrotting days are over and they will have a well deserved rest here at the Australian Jazz Museum.

Thank you Bob for your kind and colourful donation.
