Free entry (no cover charge) for AJM members at Dizzy’s Jazz Club gigs this week:
- Thursday, 4th February – New Impromptu Quartet with Alexander Nettelbeck. The New Impromptu Quartet is led by pianist Alexander Nettelbeck. The group performs original compositions along with re-workings of a few favourite standards. Funkified bass lines and driving swinging percussion characterize the quartet’s sound.
- Friday, 5th February – The Glass Moon. Singer Cam Giles Webb effortlessly creates a personal, warm and friendly atmosphere that manages to stay professional and intimate at the same time. This band is a unique modern twist with their mixture of up tempo, jazz, smooth funk and bossa nova classics.
- Saturday, 6th February – Ana Mitsikas with Roger Clark Quartet. Ana will be sharing some of her all-time favourite repertoires with you, performing with Melbourne favourites, the Roger Clark Quartet.
- Wednesday, 10th February – Dizzy’s Big Band with Peter Hearne. Dizzy’s outstanding 18-piece Big Band perform at Dizzy’s, playing traditional arrangements from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Count Basie and Duke Ellington through to modern masters such as Gordon Goodwin and Tom Harrell.
Dizzy’s Jazz Club is an Australian Jazz Museum Jazz Venue Partner: 381 Burnley Street, Richmond, VIC. Live jazz from Tuesday – Saturday, plus an occasional Monday. Roger Clark is an AJM Musician Member, the proprietor of Dizzy’s Jazz Club, and often sits in or leads on sax. 03 9428 1233.
