Free entry (no cover charge) for AJM members at Dizzy gigs this week:

  1. Thursday, 19th November – Low Down Big Band. The Low Down Big Band is an 18-piece group from Melbourne. They’re young, fresh and play high-energy music.
  2. Friday, 20th November – Tony Gould Trio with Imogen Manins. Pianist and composer Tony Gould is one of Australia’s most respected musicians. His career has embraced many styles of music, not least jazz and other improvisatory musics in addition to traditional and contemporary classical musics.
  3. Saturday, 21st November – David Cotter with Roger Clark Quartet – Roger Clark is a well-known and respected alto saxophonist who has played with almost every jazz outfit in the city.
  4. Tuesday, 24th November – Mentone Girl’s Grammar School. Performance by the students of Mentone Girl’s Grammar.
  5. Wednesday, 25th November – Dizzy’s Big Band featuring Peter Hearne and Andie Dowell – Dizzy’s outstanding 18-piece Big Band plays every Wednesday playing traditional arrangements from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Count Basie and Duke Ellington through to modern masters such as Gordon Goodwin and Tom Harrell.
