Free entry (no cover charge) for AJM members at Dizzy’s Jazz Club gigs this week

1. Thursday, 18th February – Malt & Rye with Mark Coffey. Malt & Rye draws on an eclectic mix of vibes from the great jazz church of swing, Latin and ballad standards, as well as their own compositions.
2. Friday, 19th February – Mashaka. Mashaka is an energetic quintet led by inventive local pianist and composer, Ange Montalti. On vocals is Liona Tatafu, whose soulful and captivating voice combines beautifully with Mashaka’s programme of originals and re-worked popular contemporary tunes.
3. Saturday, 20th February – Daina Jowsey with Roger Clark Quartet. Daina has performed regularly on Bert Newton’s Good Morning Australia and performed with The Australian Pops Orchestra in Melbourne and at the Sydney Opera House.
4. Tuesday, 23rd February – Richmond Music Academy. At 6.30, Dizzy’s starts the night with Richmond Music Academy’s monthly open mic, showcasing the talent that is produced by the academy.
5. Wednesday, 24th February – Dizzy’s Big Band with Peter Hearne. Dizzy’s outstanding 18-piece Big Band perform at Dizzy’s, playing traditional arrangements from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Count Basie and Duke Ellington through to modern masters such as Gordon Goodwin and Tom Harrell.
